BROOKINGS, S.D. — The Watertown girls tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday at the Brookings Invitational.
The Arrows swept host Brookings 9-0 in their opening match. Elly Dingsor, Jennika Kettwig, Grace Pesek, Victoria Bobzien, Ella Pesek, and Abby Anderson all earned singles victories. In doubles play, the teams of Dingsor and Kettwig, Grace Pesek and Bobzien, and Ella Pesek and Lillian Fox secured wins to complete the shutout.
Watertown fell to Aberdeen Central 8-1 in its second match of the day. Ella Pesek earned the lone victory for the Arrows with a win in flight five singles.
Watertown (4-6) returns to action Sept. 1 against Sioux Falls Lincoln and Jefferson.
