WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown boys and girls soccer teams hosted Sioux Falls Bishop O’Gorman on Tuesday night at Allen Mitchell Field, highlighted by a second-half surge for the boys and a hard-fought draw for the girls.
The Watertown boys (5-0-1) remained unbeaten with a 3-1 victory over the Knights. Tied 1-1 at halftime, the Arrows scored two unanswered goals in the second half to secure the win. Roger Carranza led the offense with two goals, while Dawson Hartman added a single score. Xane Fligge and Isaac Thorson each recorded an assist, and goalkeeper Owen Muller made three saves in net. O’Gorman’s lone goal came on a penalty kick following a foul in the box.
In the girls’ match, Watertown (2-3-1) played to a 1-1 draw against O’Gorman, marking the Arrows’ first tie of the season. Sophia Gallardo scored Watertown’s only goal off an assist from Katie Fischer, while goalkeeper Madi Enstad made 13 saves to preserve the draw.
Both Watertown teams return to action Sept. 3 when they travel to Yankton for a pair of matches.
