WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown soccer program completed a double-header sweep against visiting Tea Area on Tuesday night.
In the boys match, the No. 4-ranked Watertown Arrows (7-0-1) kept their undefeated record with a 4-1 victory over the Titans.
Isaac Thorson led the boys’ attack with two goals and two assists. Kasen Bender and Roger Carranza scored one goal each to round out the offense, while Matthew Bertsch added an assist. In net, goalkeeper Owen Muller turned away three shots to secure the win.
The Watertown girls squad (3-4-1) delivered a dominant performance of its own, rolling to a 6-1 victory over Tea Area.
Sophia Gallardo powered the Arrows’ offense with a hat trick, while Katie Fischer added two goals and two assists. Sophia Wishard also found the net, while Lauren Tesch contributed two assists and Berkley Fligge and Claire Schochenmaier added one assist apiece.
The goaltending tandem of Madi Enstad (five saves) and Rhyleigh Bakken (two saves) held Tea Area to a single score.
Both Watertown programs travel to Huron on Thursday, Sept. 12, for their next matchup.
