WATERTOWN, S.D. — The No. 2-ranked Watertown boys soccer team kept its unbeaten season rolling, cruising to a 5-0 shutout victory over Brookings.
Watertown (11-0-1) seized control early, taking a commanding 4-0 lead into halftime. Five different players found the back of the net for the Arrows: Xane Fligge, Isaac Thorson, Kasen Bender, Roger Carranza, and Dawson Hartman. Fligge, Bender, Hartman, and Luke McLaughlin each added an assist.
In goal, Owen Muller turned away two shots while Taren Veflin recorded one save to combine for the clean sheet.
In the girls’ match, the Watertown Arrows (7-4-1) extended their winning streak to five games, edging out the Brookings Bobcats 3-2. Statistics for the girls’ match were not reported.
Both Watertown teams return to action Thursday, hosting Mitchell in their final home game of the regular season.
