WATERTOWN, S.D. — The Watertown Arrow boys golf team hosted its only home event of the season Tuesday at Cattail Crossing, where Yankton took top team honors with a 296 total.
Watertown fielded two squads in the event. Watertown Purple finished seventh with a team score of 316, while the Watertown varsity squad tied its counterpart score of 316 to finish eighth.
In individual play, Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring captured the medal after winning on the third playoff hole, finishing at 2-under-par 70. Tea Area’s Landon Baker took second place after the playoff, also shooting a 2-under 70.
Riley Randall and Max Stemwedel led local performances for Watertown, tying for 12th place with 4-over-par rounds of 76. Jackson Ahmann and Jonathan Lake tied for 16th with matching 77s, while Brecken Jungen tied for 27th after firing a 79.
Rounding out the scoring for Watertown outside the top 30 were Tyson Lawrence (81), Gavin Neyens (82), Greyson Zebroski (83), Mason Maag (84), Nolan Boettcher (85), Colton Kasuske (88), Kolbe Skott (88), Caleb Hurkes (94), Landon Struckman (96), and Triton Ellis (111).
Up next, the Arrows travel to Brookings Country Club on Sept. 28 to compete in the Eastern South Dakota (ESD) Conference Meet.
