WATERTOWN — Benjamin Prahl accounted for five total touchdowns to lead Great Plains Lutheran to a 50-12 homecoming victory over Wilmot at Allen Mitchell Field.
Prahl was effective on all fronts for the Panthers, rushing 14 times for 130 yards and two touchdowns while going 5-for-9 passing for 153 yards and three scores. He also added six tackles and a sack on defense.
The Panthers established control on the ground, rolling up key yardage behind Prahl, Grady Hermoe, and Jeremiah Martens. Hermoe rushed 16 times for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while Martens added 76 rushing yards on 12 carries alongside a touchdown reception. Martens also contributed three tackles and an interception.
Logan Bergan provided the explosive play in the passing game for GPL, catching three passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Bergan also recorded two tackles and an interception, while Lucas Sachwitz chipped in three tackles for the defensive unit.
For Wilmot, Grayson Tekrony led the charge with 15 carries for 83 yards and two rushing touchdowns to go along with 64 passing yards. Bently Moser was his primary target through the air, hauling in four receptions for 90 yards.
With the victory, Great Plains Lutheran improves to 4-1 on the season. The Panthers travel to Florence next Friday to face the Falcons for Florence’s homecoming game. WTN Sports own Brent Nathaniel will broadcast the game live on the Florence/Henry YouTube channel.
Wilmot drops to 1-5 overall and enters a bye week.
