BROOKINGS, S.D. — The Watertown boys golf team posted a third-place finish Monday at the Eastern South Dakota Conference Championship at Brookings Country Club, led by a runner-up individual effort from Jonathan Lake.
Host Brookings captured the team title with a top score of 303, while Watertown carded a 308 to finish five strokes off the lead. Mitchell’s Asher Dannenbring claimed the individual conference championship, shooting a 2-under-par 70.
Lake paced the Arrows with a 1-over-par 73, earning a second-place finish. Max Stemwedel also cracked the top 10 for Watertown, taking seventh place with a 75. Tyson Lawrence added a top-20 finish, placing 17th with a 78.
Rounding out the scoring for the Arrows were Greyson Zebroski with an 82, Gavin Neyens with an 83, and Riley Randall with an 86.
Watertown concludes its season Oct. 5-6 at the Class AA State Tournament at Lee Park Golf Course in Aberdeen.
