WATERTOWN, S.D. — Fourth-ranked Watertown made quick work of Yankton on Tuesday night, sweeping the Gazelles in straight sets (25-17, 25-13, 25-12) during the Arrows’ homecoming matchup.
Watertown’s offense fired on all cylinders throughout the contest, anchored by setter Jaelyn Kettwig who orchestrated the attack with a game-high 34 assists while also contributing 12 digs to complete a double-double.
Carighan Klatt led the charge at the net for the Arrows, hammering home 16 kills to go along with an ace and a solo block. Torrence Tipton added double-digit kills with 11, while Kali Ellis provided additional offensive firepower with eight kills and a solo block. Cambrie Klatt also registered a solo block in the defensive effort.
The Arrows proved equally effective from behind the service line and on defense. Hensley Hogue tallied three aces and 11 digs, while Andi Olson matched Hogue with three aces and led the backline defense with 13 digs.
With the victory, Watertown improves to 10-5 on the season and will travel to face Tea Area on Tuesday, Oct. 6.
