WATERTOWN, S.D. — Carson Schlaht, Roger Carranza and Chase Thorson each scored a goal as the No. 2 Watertown boys soccer team shut out Aberdeen Central 3-0 on Tuesday to secure the program’s first Eastern South Dakota Conference championship.
Isaac Thorson added an assist and Owen Muller made two saves in goal for the Arrows, who capped off an undefeated regular season at 13-0-1.
In the girls match, Aberdeen Central snapped Watertown’s six-game winning streak with a 4-2 decision over the Arrows (8-5-1). Statistics for Watertown were not available.
The Watertown boys are projected to secure the top seed in the upcoming Class AA state tournament, while the girls are expected to hold the No. 7 seed. Official playoff pairings will be announced later this week ahead of the quarterfinal round scheduled for Oct. 6.
