HARRISBURG, S.D. — Watertown’s hard-fought girls soccer season came to a dramatic close on Saturday afternoon against four-time defending champion Harrisburg.
The Arrows fell 3-2 in a double-overtime quarterfinal battle, bowing out of the postseason after a valiant effort against the reigning champions.
Watertown’s offense was powered by Katie Fischer, who netted a goal off an assist from Sophia Gallardo. Gallardo also found the back of the net, capitalizing on an assist from Olivia Dettmann. Defensively, goalkeeper Madi Enstad anchored the Arrows with 11 saves.
Watertown concludes its campaign with a 9-6-1 record and will graduate a senior class of six players: Madison Enstad, Katie Fischer, Harper Hendricks, Khloe Landmark, Olivia Dettmann, and Claire Schochenmaier.
