WATERTOWN, S.D. — Watertown girls tennis swept a pair of dual matches Friday at Highland Park, securing a 9-0 victory over Rapid City Central before earning a 7-2 win against Brookings.
The Arrows opened the day with a clean sweep against Rapid City Central. Elly Dingsor, Jennika Kettwig, Grace Pesek, Victoria Bobzien, Ella Pesek, and Abby Anderson each captured victories in their respective singles matches.
Watertown carried the momentum into doubles play against the Cobblers, securing wins from the pairings of Dingsor and Kettwig, Grace Pesek and Bobzien, and Ella Pesek and Lillian Fox.
In the afternoon match against Brookings, the Arrows continued their strong play. Singles victories were logged by Dingsor, Kettwig, Bobzien, Ella Pesek, and Anderson. The team sealed the 7-2 team win with doubles victories from Dingsor and Kettwig as well as Ella Pesek and Fox.
Watertown returns to action Saturday, competing in a triangular meet against Pierre and host Huron.
