Watertown Soccer Sweeps Jefferson

WATERTOWN, S.D. — Watertown soccer put on an offensive show Tuesday, with both the boys and girls squads rolling past Sioux Falls Jefferson.

The fourth-ranked Watertown boys soccer team kept its undefeated record intact, improving to 9-0-1 with a 4-2 victory over the Cavaliers. Isaac Thorson fueled the offense with a hat trick, finding the back of the net three times. Xane Fligge added a goal and two assists, while Roger Carranza contributed an assist. Goalkeeper Owen Muller anchored the defense, stopping six shots to secure the win.

In the girls match, the Watertown Arrow girls (5-4-1) captured their third consecutive victory, with a 5-1 win over Jefferson. Sophia Gallardo and Katie Fischer both scored twice with Fischer adding two while Gallardo added one. Bo Meidinger added a goal, with single assists coming from Berkley Fligge, and Isabelle Gerlach.

Both Watertown squads return home to host Sioux Falls Roosevelt on Thursday, Sept. 17.
