WEST FARGO, N.D. — In a five-set marathon, West Fargo Horace edged out Watertown 3-2 on Friday night. Horace took the match 22-25, 25-22, 22-25, 25-22, 15-12 in a back-and-forth battle.
Watertown put up a strong net defense, led by Kali Ellis with five solo blocks and one assisted block. Carighan Klatt delivered a massive all-around performance with 17 kills, four solo blocks, one assisted block and two service aces.
Torrance Tipton added 16 kills and three solo blocks, while Reese Munger chipped in 10 kills. Setter Jaelyn Kettwig directed the offense, dishing out 34 assists.
Defensively, Hensley Hogue anchored the back row with a team-high 25 digs to go along with two aces. Andi Olson added 23 digs, and Malory York contributed 14 digs and an ace.
With the loss, Watertown drops to 7-5 on the season and returns home to host Huron on Sept. 22.
