Watertown Erases Seven-Run Deficit to Edge Dickinson

GRETNA, Neb. — Watertown Post 17 overcame a seven-run deficit, storming back to defeat the Dickinson Roughriders 11-8 in a morning matchup at the Creighton Prep Tournament.

The Arrows erased the early margin in the fourth inning, tying the game at 7-7. Jaxon Falak, Cain Everson, and Sam Olson each delivered RBI singles during the frame, which was extended by two Dickinson errors.

Watertown grabbed the lead for good in the fifth inning when Carter Buisker singled to drive in two runs. The Arrows added insurance in the seventh on a run-scoring single by Cole Hansen and a sacrifice fly from Everson.

Everson and Buisker finished with two RBIs on one hit. Falak contributed a multi-hit morning, going 2-for-2 and scoring a run.

Lincoln Schutt earned the victory in relief for Watertown. Schutt delivered three scoreless innings, allowing just two hits while striking out four. Ashton Rabine started the contest, yielding two hits and five runs over two-thirds of an inning. Buisker secured the save to seal the comeback.

Adyn Emard led Dickinson at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBIs. Cameron Wolf, Nick Sobolik, Trey Campbell, Josh Spillman, Christian Tibor, and Jaxson Herbel each collected a hit for the Roughriders.

Kyler Kudrna started on the mound for Dickinson, giving up two hits over three innings. Tibor took the loss, allowing four runs on two hits across 3 1/3 innings of relief.

Watertown (27-16, 12-8) wraps up tournament play against Rocky Mountain at noon on Saturday.
